The Lowest Price Smart TVs

Smart televisions are one of the most popular TVs out there.  They allow you to watch all of your favorite streaming media services straight from your television.  You won’t even need a separate device.  All you need is the television and an internet connection.  Most buyers don’t want to spend a bunch of money on a smart TV though, here is a guide to help you buy the right cheap smart TV.

Internet Connectivity

It is important to note that you will need to have an internet connection in order to reap the benefits of a smart television.  For streaming HD content at 1080P we recommend that you have a decent internet plan.  In order to stream 4K content and above, you will need to have a really good internet connection.

There are two different ways that you can connect to the internet with your smart TV.  The most common way to connect to a smart TV is a wireless connection.  This is the easiest form of connection because the device doesn’t have to be right next to your internet router.  However, you will notice faster loading speeds, less buffering, and overall better quality with a ethernet connection.  Ethernet requires your television to have the proper port and for it to be near the internet router.

Picture Quality

The cheapest smart TVs that you can buy are only 720 high definition, that is not the highest standard.  We recommend that you look for a television that is 1080P.  Most steaming media is available in 1080P and while more is becoming available, 4K streaming media is rarer.  1080P HD quality will allow you to find a cheap TV but still have amazing image quality.

We recommend looking for an OLED or LED screen to get the best picture quality.  OLED TVs are more expensive but provide you with a smoother image.

Screen Size

When you are looking for a cheap smart TV, the most affordable televisions will be smaller but the only thing that truly controls the size, is your preference.  You can find affordable smart TVs in just about any screen size.  The smallest smart TVs start around 19 inches and can go all the way up to 75 inches.  Once you get past 55 inches you will notice that the cost starts to go up greatly.

Use factors such as the number of people who will be watching, location of the television, and personal preference to determine what smart television you want as long as it is 55 inches or under.  You can find great prices on many different sizes afterall.

App Availability

Not all smart TVs are built the same.  You want to take a look at the available smart TV apps out there and determine which ones that you want.  Write out a list of what apps that you need to have and which ones would be nice to have.  For example, very few smart TVs have the Xfinity App, Roku being one of the few.  However, almost all smart TVs can watch Netflix and Hulu.

To find what apps are available on a specific TV, take a look at the manufacturer website.

Roku, one of the original developers of smart devices for televisions, now has a line of televisions that has their smart platform installed on them.  You no longer need a separate device to enjoy the convenience of Roku.  This allows you access to a wide range of apps with a time proven platform.

Consider Branding

There are a lot of different television brands out there.  Often times the bigger the brand name, the more expensive your smart television will cost.  Consider looking for lesser known brands or brands that are still growing.  For example, Vizio is becoming a bigger name in the television world but their products can still be cheaper than Samsung or similar brands.  TCL is another affordable brand that is making a name for itself in the last year or so.

Buying a smart television is a smart move.  You can cut your cable bill and all you need is an internet connection.  With this guide you can narrow down the right cheap smart TV for you and your family.  Let us know in the comments down below, what television you chose.
